Toronto/Ontario Heatwave

Hopefully everyone in Toronto who OWNS a basement knows enough to simply GO THERE in order to cool off.

Turn off your air conditioning (window or central) and save the juice for more important things.....like....surfing the web (reading this blog), watching TV (tune in a movie and chill), turning on the fan in your bedroom....(when you finally decide to stop watching TV news about the blackout! )

If you're one of the unlucky ones, living in a part of town already in the grips of a complete power failure......just go to the basement, sit near a window, read a book you've always meant to crack open (or this morning's newspaper).....and have a nice cold beer. (I trust you brought home the ice for the styrofoam cooler and a six-pack!) With any luck, you charged up your iPod this morning and it can still provide you with a little 'passive' entertainment.

So that's my solution for dealing with the loss of electricity. Pour yourself a nice cold beer, grab a handful of chocolate chip cookies....or Dad's Oatmeals....head to the basement and play with whatever turns you on.

Stay cool, eh!

Watching the TV show (there are no periods in TV, you know.....it's like MD, LSD and NFG...not necessarily in that order)....which makes me wonder, does this thing have spell check? Sorry about the short attention span there.....but I'm male, I'm over 60 and I have a spouse. No further explanation needed, presumably.

Getting back to watching the show about the chick who is clinically ill with "hoarding". Not sure that was a good thing to see, or otherwise.

On the one hand (was a wart, as Bob used to say) seeing HER apartment made MY office look almost neat, in comparison.

On the OTHER hand (was a glove.....gotcha) I felt somewhat less messy, seeing what SHE had to deal with. Mind you, she had a therapist helping her deal with her hoard; I just have Jackie. And, not sure "helping" is the word. I was thinking "occasional harping". Hey, I can do italics! Cool.

Gotta go do some work on the house (put up some shelves, vacuum cat hair, bottle beer, get all kinds of crap put away) or Thanksgiving just aint gonna be a peaceful event. Not to mention we won't be able to ride to Ellicotville as our probable last major outing on the Yamaha this Saturday. Off to it!
